FARGO - MVP Pizza is now open in the former Happy Joe’s Pizza building at 3132 Broadway.
“The Fargo people are the greatest people I’ve ever dealt with,” General Manager Joey Waz said Thursday, Jan. 31.
Waz said that the restaurant, which opened Jan. 21, uses only fresh ingredients and real cheese on its Chicago-style pizzas.
“You’re not eating cardboard, you’re eating good stuff,” Waz said, adding that the restaurant serves a gyro pizza, as well as a Taco Pizza that harkens back to the shop’s Happy Joe’s beginnings.
Waz said the north Fargo pizzeria is the first for the area, with three other locations being considered, including West Fargo, Moorhead and in the Veterans Boulevard area. He said a couple more MVPs may open by the end of this year.
For now, MVP will deliver throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area, “until we get a feel for the city,” Waz said.
Waz said that the shop is giving 25 percent discounts to veterans, law enforcement and hospital workers. There is also a 25 percent discount for students (with identification cards) for the first three months of the year.
